I created a series of works that focused on my experience dancing ballet growing up. With these pieces I intended to evoke the emotions and memories that I harbor from this period of my life.

forged tool steel

I made my own set of chasing/repousse tools. Starting with blank rods of tool steel, I forged, shaped, filed, polished, and tempered each one by hand.

Repousse and chasing are metalworking techniques dating from Antiquity. These techniques are used in conjunction to hammer relief designs in malleable metal.
